I’m not sure it’s the biggest there is, but Champsochromis caeruleus can get to 17 inches!

I would like to say…i think frontosas and any hap species would get fairly large. most african cichlids only grow to between 5-7 inches in length

I have a male frontosa, he is about 12 inches. But you have to either keep just one, or a lot because they can be very aggressive and territorial. I have him in a tank with two large catfish one is about 9inches the other is 12 inches, and a large algae eater.

The size of the fish depends on the amount of water, place any cichlid african or south american in a small tank and they will be stunted, I am setting up a 125 gal tank and will expect to see my africans in the range of 10-12 inches.

I would like to say…i Would Say Frontosa Aswell! i Have 15 Fronts In An 8 Foot Tank Ranging From 9″ To 1 Foot Long! They Are Incredible Fish, Highly Recommended To Me! Be Sure To Shop Around Before Buying, Alot Of Fish Shops Charge Extremely High Prices For These Guys Because Some Are “Wild Caught” Or “7 Bar”. Also Be Sure To Buy Your Fish From Seperate Shops To Ensure They Are All Not Related. Have Fun With These Guys!
