I would like to say…you need to stop feeding your fish for at least a week. and quit giving him bug and bits of meat or small fish. i am pretty sure your fish are probably suffering from to much protien. you have to remember that fish in a tank are just like fish in the wild and they are not gaurenteed to eat every day and as it goes with all animals, they will over eat if the food is available. after a few days to a week try to give the fish some vegetables no not carrots, but maybe some of the tips of a broccoli spear or a piece of lettuce most fish eat lots of algie it keeps them regular
    i hope this helps

or feed tropical flakes or goldfish flakes as these are geared almost like a vegetarian diet versus protien like cichlids pellets of flakes. pellets will back up your cichlids as well. if using pellets, feed maybe 2 or 3 times A WEEK. NO MORE! They digest them slower than large, say, oscars. I feed cichlid flakes one morning, then tropical flakes the next. my fish are bright, active and poop all the time!!!

Have you tried X-lax? Im jsut kidding, do what the first guy said, Remember your type of chiclids are 80% vegaterians. Ive found they like the sucker fish alge wafers alot. Install live plants after 4-5 days of no feeding and wait a week more before feeding them again. They should chow down on the plants and it will naturally cure that poop issue lol. I give my fish a 100% veggie diet 3 times a day, no more food than they can clear out within 30-45 seconds 3 times a day. On teh weekends they get feed once a day like this but i give them a special treat of protein in the form of shrip, bloodworms excedra. they come in cube form 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch. I give then 2 cubes on friday and sundays. When you feed your fish make sure they are not swimming around with fat bellies. A fat chiclid will soon be a dead chiclid. You want them to keep a slim build plus being slim lets them get away from teh bigger meaner fish faster sustaning less damage. When feeding if the food hits the bottom of the tank you can assume you are over feeding them. :) Good Luck
