I would like to say…I was told that males have many spots on their anal fins and females only have a few spots or none at all. That seems accurate considering the dynamics of my tank. Now I have almost 30 cichlids (I started with 8). Once the dynamic in your take has settled the alpha male in the tank will bend nearly in half and girate in another males space to make his dominance known. Its REALLY neat to watch the females once they hatch fry. Their colors are off the wall pretty and their fin movements are almost like watching a dance.
